Korean War

The Korean War began on June 25, 1950, when solders from the North Korean People’s Army entered the southern Republic of Korea. Just after World War II, the invasion that began the Korean War was also the first military action of the Cold War. Uniforms produced during the time vary but many were designed to resist brutal winters. Much of the equipment used in the Korean War is equivalent to World War II weaponry and technology. Soldiers in this era carried web gear, complete with belts and H harnesses.

The Korean war was the last war during which there was widespread use of semi-automatic battle rifles and carbines. Many of these weapons can be acquired by civilians. Today, classics like the M1 Garand, the M1911, and the M1 Carbine are enjoyed by collectors.
