Provenance: James Gallier Senior (1798-1866); and by descent to Dr Kenneth McLeod Jr (1930-2020); Private Collection, UK. Note: James Gallier (formerly Gallagher) was an Irish architect who moved from County Louth to New Orleans in 1834. He was responsible for designing several important buildings in Louisiana and Alabama which are now designated National Historic Landmarks. It is interesting to note similarities between Gallierï¿½s architectural designs of Greek-revival buildings in New Orleans - such as Gallier Hall and the original St Charles Hotel - and the classicising visions depicted in these works. Gemäldepaar JAGDGESELLSCHAFT AN EINEM FLUSS VOR WALDLANDSCHAFT Öl auf Leinwand. Doubliert. Je 60 x 53 cm. Das erste Gemälde rechts unten, das zweite links unten signiert „I. Moucheron“. Das erste Gemälde zeigt in waldiger Berglandschaft zwei Jäger, die gerade einen verwilderten Fluss überqueren und auf der anderen Uferseite bereits von einem Treiber mit Hunden erwartet werden. Das zweite Gemälde zeigt wiederum einige Jäger zu Pferde am flachen Ufer eines Flusses sowie einen Begleiter im Vordergrund in Rückenansicht, der auf einem Holzgestell einige darauf sitzende Vögel trägt; begleitet wird er zudem von zwei Hunden. Malerei, bei der der Wald in zahlreichen differenzierten Grüntönen wiedergegeben wird, unter hohem hellblauem Himmel mit weißen Wolkenformationen, der durch das stimmungsvolle Sonnenlicht teils gelblich verfärbt ist. Teils rest., kleine Retuschen. Der Künstler war der Sohn des Landschaftsmalers Frederik de Moucheron (1633-1686) und seiner Frau. Bei seinem Vater lernte er das Malen und reiste dann für zwei Jahre nach Italien. Als er zurückkehrte, wurde er bekannt für italienische Landschaften an Wandbehängen für wohlhabende Amsterdamer Familien. Seine Arbeiten befinden sich in den Sammlungen mehrerer Museen, darunter das Britische Museum, das Metropolitan Museum of Art, das Philadelphia Museum of Art und das Städelmuseum. (1290621) (18)

(Amsterdam, 1667 o 1670 - 1744) Paesaggio italianizzante con pastori e case sullo sfondo Olio su tela, cm 57X75 Di squisito gusto italianizzante, l'esecuzione di questa tela dovrebbe collocarsi tra il 1694 e il 1697 quando è documentata la presenza del pittore a Roma, si contano le sue rare vedute della Città Eterna e paesaggi della campagna laziale, come la 'Veduta del Tevere', custodita dal Museo di Varsavia (1696). In queste opere si osserva quanto sia stato importante per Moucheron l'esempio dei paesisti dell'epoca ma al contempo ci si rende conto della sua autonomia pittorica e intellettuale che lo esenta dall'essere un semplice copista o seguace. La differenza si coglie specialmente analizzando il modo in cui interpreta la luminosità, giocata su complessi controluce senza smarrire la salda concretezza descrittiva e non a caso nella Bent romana fu soprannominato 'Ordinanza', perché sapeva ben comporre. Mostrano un meraviglioso simile talento anche i numerosi disegni, che per qualità sembrano superare i dipinti a olio e denotano, come suggerisce Busiri Vici, uno studio attento di Jan Frans van Bloemen. La nostra tela si puì dire esemplare della sua arte e per la storia del paesismo capitolino. Bibliografia di riferimento: L. Isaac de Moucheron (1667-1744) GARDEN WITH FIGURES. First third of 18th century. Painting depicts an afternoon in a park with a central sculpture surrounded by figures of men and a dog. Work is a typical work of Dutch style landscape paintings. Oil on oak desk, 40x32 cm. Framed. Condition A. Comes with an expert´s opinion of PhDr. Jiří Militký, Ph.D. from 16. 9. 2011. Issac de Moucheron - landscape painter, noted master of Dutch style landscape paintings of the end of 17th and beginning of 18th century. As a son and student of painter Frederick de Moucheron he lived in Amsterdam until 1694 and then moved to Italy for two years. This influenced him greatly and till the rest of his live his landscapes were filled with elements of Hellenistic architecture. Isaac de Moucheron (1667-1744) ZAHRADA S FIGURÁLNÍ STAFÁŽÍ. 1. třetina 18. stol. Malba zachycuje odpolední náladu v parku, v jehož čele stojí velká zahradní socha upomínající na staré antické předlohy. Pod sochou se nachází dvojice mužů, z nichž jeden hraje na loutnu a u nohou se mu sklání pes, a druhý, v červeném plášti, jej z bezprostřední blízkosti pozoruje. Další posluchač leží na nedalekých antických architektonických fragmentech. Dílo je ukázkou italizující nizozemské krajinomalby. Olej na dubové desce, 40x32 cm. Rámováno. Stav A. Opatřeno znaleckým posudkem PhDr. Jiřího Militkého, Ph.D. ze dne 16. 9. 2011. Issac de Moucheron - malíř, krajinář, řadí se mezi významné nizozemské mistry konce 17. a 1. pol. 18. stol. Jako syn a žák malíře Fredericka de Moucheron žil až do roku 1694 v Amsterdamu. Poté se vypravil do Itálie, kde pobýval v letech 1695-1697 a kde jej hluboce ovlivnila tamní krajina. Zbytek života strávil v Amsterdamu. Pro jeho tvorbu jsou typické motivy parků s prvky antické architektury. Isaac de Moucheron (1667-1744) GARTEN MIT FIGURENSTAFFAGE. 1700-1730. Danach ging er nach Italien, wo er in den Jahren 1695-1697 wirkte und durch die italienische Landschaft stark beeinflusst wurde. Den Rest des Lebens verbrach er wieder in Amsterdam. Typisch für ihn sind Parkmotive mit antiken Architekturelementen.
