Amber Necklaces & Pendants

Amber necklaces are as much aesthetically pleasing as they are pieces of ancient history. Though amber can glimmer like a gemstone, it is not a mineral. It was once plant resin millions of years ago that, over time, became compressed into the brilliant, glasslike material.

Not necessarily aware of this impressive history, our ancient ancestors nevertheless appreciated amber for its amazing glow and for its connotations as a magical source of healing. As a result, wearing necklaces and bracelets of carved amber beads was considered a means of promoting good health or at least warding off disease.

Their rationale was, in some regards, spot on. More recent science has shown that the outer layer of amber contains succinic acid, which has been proven to boost your health.
