We sold the first part of this collection last July. All sales final. Invoices above $2500 must be paid with cash, cashier's check or wire transfer. In-house shipping is available. Pickup is Tuesday, Oct. 15 from 1 pm to 3 pm in Carroll, OH or by appointment by Nov. 1. We can provide in-house shipping for this item. We pack once the lot is paid for.         Adrein Aime Taunay Watercolor Landscape: A large framed watercolor on paper by Adrien Aime Taunay "The Younger" (French 1803-1828) of a country landscape in the fall, with trees, fields, farmhouses and a dirt road with a rustic horsecart in the center midground. Signed A Taunay in lower right. Provenance: Robert A Goldstein. Size: sight is 23" X 11.75", frame is 33.5" X 23". CONDITION: Apparently fine, not examined out of frame. Frame has some age cracks and minor losses.

        Adrien Taunay The Younger (United States, France, 1803 - 1828)Watercolor of a house along the banks. Sight Size: 13 x 27 inches. As the junior draftsman aboard the "Uranie" on a French exploration voyage to Hawaii in 1819, Adrien Taunay worked with the official artist, Jacques Arago. They depicted the local people and landscape at a time when Hawaii was becoming a whaling center and part of the trade route with China. One of his subjects was Keeaumoku, an attendant to Hawaii's high chief, who was on the deck of the "Uranie" dressed in full Hawaiian regalia and smoking a pipe, a newly adopted activity of Hawaiian upper classes.
