(Occasional soiling and marginal staining, map with marginal chipping and and fraying, creased and sometime repaired and restored, 2 leaves pp.429-432 with minor corner restoration, last leaf with short marginal tear repaired without loss.) Red crushed morocco by Bayntun Riviere, gilt spine, gilt turn-ins, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt (spine very faintly faded). FIRST EDITION OF THIS CANADIAN TRAVELOGUE. Kane accurately captured scenes of native American life in his drawings and paintings which are reproduced in fine chromolithography in the present work. The work contains his journals converted to narrative form along with fine reproductions of his drawings and paintings.
