TEMMINCK, Coenraad Jacob (1778-1858) & MEIFFREN LAUGIER DE CHARTROUSE. KLOCK (1738 - 1814) American Revolutionary War jurist who served as a member of the Assembly for Temporary Government of the Southern District of New York during the Revolution, and Chairman of the Tryon County Committee of Safety in 1777. The son of patriot George Klock, he was well educated although born and reared in a wilderness filled with Indian "savages" and wild beasts where the ordinary comforts of even the civilized life of his time were luxuries. Peter Bellinger" [American Revolutionary soldier, Colonel of New York State Militia from 1776 to 1783]. Colonel Bellinger fought with General Nicholas Herkimer at the Battle of Oriskany, August 6, 1777. He was made commander of the German Flatts and Kingsland Militia, and is credited with holding the frontier through the remainder of the American Revolutionary War. Age-toned with minor stains, very good.
