    bronze, below the depiction the artist's monogram EB, plaque by the sculptor Eduard Beyrer, a smaller reproduction of the memorial of the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen for its fallen soldiers, the memorial shows a seated warrior with a steel helmet, whose strength is unbroken despite his shackles, the memorial had next to the names of the fallen students the inscription: Allen Gewalten zum Trotz sich erhalten, edge of the plaque faceted six times, with eyelet according to the artist's design, good condition, 8 x 8 cm (HxW) The better-known works of the Munich sculptor Eduard Beyrer (1866-1934) include the Prinzregentenbrunnen in Kulmbach, the Bismarck Monument in Hamburg and the Eulenbrunnen in the LMU. The Erlangen Fallen Memorial was unveiled on July 1, 1930 and removed by order of the Americans in 1946. According to the current perspective of the Erlangen authorities, the monument represented the political instrumentalization of the commemoration of the dead. German Description Eduard Beyrer, Plakette Gefallenen-Denkmal, Universität Erlangen, 1930 Bronze, unterhalb der Darstellung das Künstlermonogramm EB, Plakette des Bildhauers Eduard Beyrer, verkleinerte Wiedergabe des Denkmals der Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen für ihre Gefallenen, das Denkmal zeigt einen sitzenden Krieger mit Stahlhelm, dessen Kraft trotz seiner Fesseln ungebrochen ist, das Denkmal trug neben den Namen der gefallenen Studenten die Inschrift: Allen Gewalten zum Trotz sich erhalten, Rand der Plakette sechsfach facettiert, nach Künstlerentwurf gehenkelt, Erhaltung sehr schön, 8 x 8 cm (HxB) Zu den bekannteren Werken des Münchner Bildhauers Eduard Beyrer (1866-1934) gehört der Prinzregentenbrunnen in Kulmbach, das Bismarck Denkmal in Hamburg sowie der Eulenbrunnen in der LMU. Das Erlanger Gefallenendenkmal wurde am 1.7.1930 enthüllt und auf Anordnung der Amerikaner 1946 beseitigt. Laut heutiger Sichtweise der Erlanger Behörden präsentierte das Denkmal die politische Instrumentalisierung des Totengedenkens.
