Men's Baume et Mercier Watches

Baume et Mercier has changed hands several times since it was founded over 175 years ago as a manufacturer of enameled fob watches in Switzerland by Louis Victor Baume and Pierre-Joseph-Celestine (Frères Baume). However, it has nevertheless enjoyed an uninterrupted history of luxury watchmaking.

Paul Mercier joined forces with William Baume in the early 1900s and together they founded Baume & Mercier, Genève in 1918. Mercier had considerable skill as a marketer, creating feminine, shaped (which means other than round), and jeweled wristwatches for the newly emancipated woman of the Roaring Twenties.

Baume et Mercier currently offers five different collections. The Hampton is a shaped watch for both men and women; the Capeland features chronograph and multiple time zone functionality; the Classima is based on minimalist, elegant design; Linea is contemporary and dynamic yet nods to the brand’s heritage; and the new Clifton collection, launched in 2012 as an updated version of a vintage Baume et Mercier model from the 1950s.
