Colt Single Action Army Revolvers

The Colt Single Action Army is by far Colt’s most popular single-action revolver. In fact, the Single Action Army has only the Colt Python to compete with in terms of popularity over all Colt weapons. The Single Action Army was specifically designed for a U.S. military contract in 1872 and served for 20 years.

The Single Action Army is also known as the Colt SAA. It has been produced in more than 30 calibers and a variety of different barrel lengths and grip styles.

The Single Action Army was a staple of the Old West and was found in the hands of soldiers, lawmen, outlaws, and ranchers. The weapon served reliably in a variety of roles and different configurations. There are three generations of the Colt SAA ranging from the first generation created in 1872 to the final changes in 1976.
