Description

Christian Gottfried Jüchtzer 1752 - 1812 , Zephyr and Flora, Meissen, around 1820. The model from 1786. Biscuit china. Zephyr, god of the West Wind, stands in a tender embrace next to his beloved Flora. Crossed swords mark (blind stamp), incised model's no. 'J10' and '36'. Dam. to the garland, prof. rest. H. 29,5 cm., Since 1768 trained in the Meissen manufactory he became since 1774 the closest collaborator of J.J. Kaendler. He created et al. classicistic figures based on the model of sculptures in the Dresdner Antikensammung and on plaster casts of the Mengs'sche Abgußsammlung.
