Vicente Clavo Gil (1923-1994)

The Spanish painter was born in Madrid. Showing literary, musical and artistic interest already as a child, Clavo decided to devote himself to painting in the late 1930s. In 1947 he had his first solo exhibition in Madrid, which followed by many more in Europe and the US in the course of his life. With a scholarship he undertook a study trip to Italy in 1950, to Paris in 1952 and visited the USA 1953. Following a journey through Europe he settled down in Milan in 1954 from where he returned to Spain in 1963. (fea)
