About Auctionata Paddle8 AG

Biography

Auctionata is a German auction house based in Berlin that deals in fine art, antiques, collectibles, and luxury goods. A new, international ecommerce company, Auctionata has offices in London, Madrid, New York, Rome and Zurich and holds multiple live online auctions each week that cater to their growing global network of collectors. In 2014 they offered more than 60 auctions online on Invaluable.com for post-war and contemporary art, Buddhist and Indian art, Soviet space memorabilia, luxury watches, jewelry, and more, with numerous live auctions planned for the future.

As a high-volume auction house, many unusual and rare items pass through Auctionata on a regular basis; for example, a rare bottle of champagne that was recovered after 80 years shipwrecked at the bottom of the Baltic Sea hit the auction block in December 2014 at a fine wine auction. Auctionata is also known to break sales records; CNN reported that the $235,000 paid for a 1955 Volkswagen mini bus that sold in December 2014 through Auctionata was the highest amount ever paid for one of the iconic vehicles.

Services & Staff

Aside from offering highly successful online auctions, Auctionata offers online valuations for lower-value items and in-person valuations for higher-value items. Auctionata has such an extensive network of international experts at its disposal that their expertise in various areas is ranked by level. For example, top expert Dr. Andreas Preindl, Expert Rank 2, hyper-specializes in antique Vienna and English clocks from 1780 to 1920.

You can search Auctionata's Network of Experts online by most recommended, and filter by category and country of origin. Broad categories of expertise include paintings and works on paper; coins, stamps and postcards; jewelry, watches and silver; and technical antiques and classic cars, to name a few.

Auctionata founders Georg Untersalmberger and Alexander Zacke remain a part of the auction house's management team. The auction team is composed of skilled auctioneers, producers and editors and technical specialists that manage the auction house's live streaming auctions.
