Very good condition

These two color lithographs were created by Danish artist Troels Wörsel around 1990. They illustrate, with slight variations, the characteristic motif associated with pirates, which is the so called ‘blackjack’. Executed in black and grey colors, these ‘blackjacks’ are marked ‘A.P.’ as artist proofs. In addition to the edition of lithographs Troels Wörsle also created an acrylic painting depicting the same motif.

Both color lithographs are marked ‘A. P.’ and signed with pencil ‘T. Wörsel’. The sheets are in very good condition indicating only minimal studio traces below the image. One sheet shows traces of old mounting on the back. The sheet’s size are ca. 46.5 x 53.5 cm each.

Troels Wörsel (b. 1950)
Troels Wörsel was born 1950 in Aarhus, Denmark. He moved to Munich in 1974 where he visited the Art Academy. Around 1981 the artist moved to Cologne where he lives and works to this day. In the 90s Wörsel bought a second studio in Pietrasanta, Italy. His works can be found in well-known collections such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the MOMA in New York, the National Gallery in Denmark as well as in the Kunstmuseum Bonn.
