Lot 28: Tim Walker, Pictures, Book Edition with Photograph, 2008

The extensive book, compiled by Walker himself, gives a fascinating insight into his working methods and a great overview of his photographic work. The added photograph was taken in 2005 in the Indian town of Whadwan for the British edition of Vogue and rank among the photographer’s best known.

Condition:

The limited book edition is in overall very good condition. The image of the inkjet print measures 50.3 x 39 cm, the sheet 57 x 48 cm. The book comprises 368 pages and measures 36.8 x 28 cm. The dimensions of the box are 59.8 x 50.5 x 7 cm.

Tim Walker (b. 1970)

In 1994 Tim Walker graduated from his studies in photography at Exeter College of Art. He then worked as an assistant of Richard Avedon in New York. In 1995 he applied to the British Vogue and immediately received a job. Since then he photographs not only for the various editions of this fashion magazine, but also for others like Harper's Bazaar and Vaity Fair and take on advertising campaigns of great fashion label. In 2008 Walkers first major exhibition took place at the Design Museum in London, in the same year he published his book ‘Pictures'. His carefully staged, narrative conceived shots fascinate with their exuberant décor. Tim Walker already received many awards and prizes, works by him are in the collections of the Victoria & Albert Museum and the National Portrait Gallery in London. (fea)
