Thomas Hickey (Irish 1741-1824) A BUST PORTRAIT OF BERNARD SMITH WARD (c.1743-1770) signed and dated T. Hickey, 1760; inscribed verso in ink Bernard Smith Ward died 9th May 1770 black and white chalk on grey paper 45 x 35cms; 18 x 14in., in feigned oval mount. NB Bernard Smith Ward was M.P. in 1769 for Enniskillen and a nephew of Earl Erne. PROVENANCE Crom Castle, Co Fermanagh, Sold by direction of The Rt. Hon the Earl Erne KCVO. See illustration
