Item Overview

Description

Luce-Avviamento-Filis.
CARLO BISCARETTI DI RUFFIA (1879-1959)
Atelier Butteri, Torino
Cond B+/SLight tears at folds and edges.
A founder of the Museo dell'Automobile in Turin, Biscaretti was an industrial designer who produced only a handful of posters, most of them for the automotive industry between 1920 and 1930. Here, however, he dispenses with wheels and car body altogether-and in doing so creates a sort of internal-combustion rocketeer-in-boots with a penchant for nationalistic scarves-in order to promote an array of Filis products that keep your ride-be it car or motorcycle-running smoothly, specifically headlights, starters and pressure gauges. A fantastical flight of fancy that would be just as at home promoting the Italian-produced adventure film, Filibus (see PAI-XLVI, 117) as it does car parts.
