Since 1985, Poster Auctions International, Inc. (PAI) has specialized in vintage poster sales. The auction house offers triannual auction sales of rare and unique posters. Live and timed auctions are available on Invaluable.com, where PAI is a platinum member—they have hosted auctions with Invaluable since 2012. Known for its sales of notable and important posters, PAI’s sales attract poster collectors worldwide. The auction house set a record in 1989 with the sale of the iconic "Moulin Rouge" by Toulouse-Lautrec for $220,000—the highest price paid for a poster at auction. PAI specializes in rare, vintage, and highly sought-after posters. The auction house deals exclusively in collectable paper goods with a primary focus on posters, but their offerings also include selected books and periodicals.

Jack Rennert is regarded as one of the world's foremost authorities on rare vintage posters. He's authored (either solo or in collaboration), two dozen books on poster art, including catalogue raisonnés for Leonetto Cappiello and Alphonse Mucha, studies on bicycle and circus posters, and Buffalo Bill's Wild West. His book Posters of the Belle Epoque has sold over 30,000 copies. In addition to PAI, Rennert owns Posters Please, a private retailer of vintage posters, as well as Rennert's Gallery, which houses both PAI and Posters Please.
