The catchphrase in this poster which is used in all three of the Hernandez designs offered in this auction can translate several ways: 'As bright,' 'As lively' or 'As cheerful' 'as its sun.' Seeing as the artist was referring to Cuba in the service of INIT the National Tourism Industry Institute chances are that all three were intended to come into play for the potential Spanish-speaking traveler. But all verbiage pales when played off of Hernandez's richly-hued star, a veritable celestial sea anemone-inspired creation that gives off the distinct impression of being completely animated and very much in motion.
