Estimate by Auctionata Expert: 30,000 Euro

Both in his time in Russia in the 1830s and later in Italy, Johann Nepomuk Rauch painted numerous pastoral scenes that involve anatomically accurately reproduced representations of animals. The paintings are executed in warm earth tones and show a loose, while detailed brushwork and an accomplished lighting.

Condition:
The painting is in a very good condition according to age. The varnish has been renewed. There are slight framing marks along the margins. The paint surface is slightly darkened. The inspection under UV light reveals scattered small areas of retouching to the upper left. The frame is slightly worn. The dimensions of the painting are 34 x 43 cm, while the frame measures 51 x 59 cm.
