Lot 4060: Japan (Tamamura): Views of landscapes of Japan

Photographer: Tamamura Kozaburo (1856 - 19?). Views of landscapes of Japan. 1880s. 50 delicately hand-colored albumen prints. Each circa 25,5 x 19 cm and 19 x 25,5 cm. Number and title in the negative in lower corners, each mounted to gilt-edged album board (slightly warped, some foxing, slightly soiled at start and end of album), bound in red and black lacquer album (some scuff marks, light chips in corners) with inlay genre scene on cover and painted ornamental insects on back, with gilt leather spine (rubbed).
The views show Miyanoshita, Kiga, Kashiwabara, Yoshiwara, Uyeno/Tokyo, Nikko and Haruna. - Some prints faded, especially in edges, some surface scuffing, otherwise many in good to very condition.
