Item Overview

Description

Huetter & Matzner: Three Posters. ca. 1955.Printers (left to right, all from Vienna): Ferd. Repper, Josef Eberle & F. AdametzCond B/Restored tears at folds (left); Cond A/other two.Crisp, clean design and colorful, clear product placement makes these sunny 2-sheet designs for a pair of Viennese clothiers surefire winners. The Austrian posterist that created the trio understood that when it came to winning people over with regard to everyday apparel, a striking pose and vibrant tones say more than cumbersome text ever could. So if you follow their fashionable advice, here's what you'll find in your closet and dresser in the very near future: a quality, contemporary overcoat, a smart sheep's wool cardigan and a pure wool pullover, each of which can be found at either the Huetter or Matzner emporiums. Born in Vienna, Hofman studied at the Vienna Academy of Applied Art. His humorous and suggestive style soon brought his talents to the forefront of the commercial market. His images varied from cartoon-like children characters to beautiful young woman. Throughout the 1950s, few designers could outperform him in creating advertising for the clothing industry.
