Born in Vienna, Hofman studied at the Vienna Academy of Applied Art. His humorous and suggestive style soon brought his talents to the forefront of the commercial market. His images varied from cartoon-like children characters to beautiful young woman. Throughout the 1950s, few designers could outperform him in creating advertising for the clothing industry.
