One work verso titled with pencil ‘Elias Canetti’
Image size: each c. 33 x 35 cm
Good condition considering the age
Hans G. Casparius is well-known for his instantaneous snapshots of daily life that are regarded as important contemporary documents

Hans G. Casparius was interested in unpredictable, natural emotions and therefore emphasized a
personal relationship to his models. The present set is composed of five vintage gelatin silver prints depicting snapshots of a recording session in a studio. The careful observer will discover the famous writer and later Nobel Prize winner Elias Canetti among the sitters.

Some vintage gelatin silver prints are verso typographically titled; one photograph is verso inscribed with pencil ‘Elias Canetti’. The works are in good overall condition considering their age. The edges are affected by weak to relatively strong frilling. Some corners reveal tiny pin holes. The image sizes are equal to the sheet sizes of c. 33 x 35 cm.

A few years later, in 1935, Casparius emigrated to London, where he founded the production company Music in Vision, Ltd. with the German film critic Hans Nathan Feld (1902-1992).
