Item Overview

Description

Groll, Andreas: Four pavillons of the Louvre Four pavillons of the Louvre, Paris. 1850s. 4 albumen prints on thin paper, 1 with cut corners. Each circa 28 x 22 cm. Each numbered 374, 375, 377 and 392 and 3 titled Paris, Luver in the negative in lower edge; mounted in corners to wove paper.
Andreas Groll sometimes used the prints of other photographers (such as Bisson frères) and made copy negatives and published them under his name. This is especially true of images from Paris and the prints offered here are likely such prints. - Paper buckled in corners from mounting, fading in edges, some crease marks, otherwise in good condition.
