Lot 7114: Chinese 20th C. Painting

Painting, China, 20th century, of chrysanthemums and peonies, ink and color on paper, signed and sealed Xiao Junxian 萧浚县 (1865-1949), 39 1/4" x 12 1/2", frame 49" x 18 1/2". Provenance: from the collection of Wen Tsan Yu 余文燦, dedicated to Yu San 育三, Yu's moniker. For over fifty years, this collection has been treasured by the family. This prominent Chinese family can also trace its descent to Moy Toy Ni (Charlie Toy) of Milwaukee, a successful businessman widely known as Chinese Rockefeller during the early 20th century.
