Description

Views of Venice. Circa 1855. 7 large-format albumen prints. Each circa 32 x 25 cm and 32 x 25. Each mounted to board (some foxing/soiling), with Carlo Ponti's blind stamp, address Riva dei Schiavoni Venezia below the image on the mount; 5 with printed text on mount verso.
In the 1850s Domenico Bresolin was one of the most important coworkers of Carlo Ponti. His photographs, such as these, were often published under Ponti's name. - Most with foxing spots, otherwise with a strong violet-brown tone and in good condition.
