Item Overview

Description

BEN NASON
New Haven Railroad/Martha's Vineyard.
Though the New Haven Railroad couldn't get any of its passengers directly to the roughly triangular island of Martha's Vineyard seeing as it's located three miles off the coast of Cape Cod, it could surely get you a Massachusetts town with a ferry in order to complete the journey. Known primarily as a summer tourist colony in contemporary times, Nasan divides The Vineyard neatly with a carved figurehead, bisecting it into two clearly defined areas one featuring the Gay Head Light and a nod to its commercial maritime history and another tiled with the Gingerbread Cottages of Oak Bluffs.
