WEEBER, Carel (Dutch 1937). Peperklip, 1980. Screen print laminated to plastic, inscribed 'h.s.', numbered IV/X, signed in pencil and dated (lower right), 91.3 x 91 cm. Scattered traces of white paint and paper, several stains and a scratch (3 cm.).

Peperklip is a famous apartment building in Rotterdam, constructed in the early eighties and shaped as a slightly uncurled paperclip. Due to its distinctive design, large scale and rationalism, the Peperklip became an influential, prominent and controversial housing project of the Dutch architect Carel Weeber. This print shows the Weeber's design of the North and South facades of the building.
