Our Auctions

Since its foundation in 2009, Adams has conducted quite a few extraordinary sales. In 2015 we carried out a sale of more than 500 pieces from the estate of Frans Molenaar - the most famous Dutch fashion designer, who also was a passionate collector of art and design. This auction was extensively covered in the media and raised 3.5 times more than initially estimated. In 2018 we organized two commemorative auctions - 70 years of COBRA and a tribute to the recently deceased Co Westerik. Moreover, we conducted specialist auctions from the private archives of the Dutch photographers Nico Koster and Vincent Mentzel as well as a sale of more than 8oo private belongings of the famous Dutch writer and painter Jan Cremer. The sale of the manuscript of his legendary novel ‘Ik Jan Cremer’ was broadcasted live on television. Other important pieces sold by Adams include the Blaeu town atlas for € 340,000 and Het Grachtenhuis (The Canal House) in Amsterdam for € 6,000,000.
