Description

Christian Gottfried Jüchtzer 1752 - 1812 , A rare large figure group 'The purified love', Meissen, 19th cent. The model from 1786/1787. A female figure dressed in an antique style as an allegory of the purified love stands opposite a genius who holds a butterfly in his hand as a sign of immortality. Crossed swords mark, model's no. 'J 50', impressed '110', '7' in black. Min. best. H. 37 cm., Since 1768 trained in the Meissen manufactory he became since 1774 the closest collaborator of J.J. Kaendler. He created et al. classicistic figures based on the model of sculptures in the Dresdner Antikensammung and on plaster casts of the Mengs'sche Abgußsammlung.
