Veronica Whall (British, 1887-1967 or 1970), four designs for stained glass windows, including a design for All Saints Church, Valescupe, St Raphael, France and another for Chelsfield Church, Surrey, pencil, pen and watercolour on paper (4) Veronica Whall (1887 - 1967 or 1970) was an illustrator, painter and successful stained glass artist. She started working with her father Christopher Whall, a leader in the Arts and Crafts Movement in stained glass and took over the running of the studio, Whall & Whall, on his death in 1924. The studio closed in 1953 on her retirement. Whall & Whall made stained glass works for Churches and Cathedrals in England, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Her father's best regarded work is at Gloucester Cathedral. During 1918-1919 Veronica worked as an assistant for her father on a commission for the stained glass at All Saints in Valescure, south coast of France. An Anglican chapel was established in 1900 in Valescure for English visitors who came to the region for the winter season. In 1925, she worked on the designs of a window in the South Chancel for St Martin of Tours Church, Chelsfield, Kent. The left hand light shows St Martin on his horse, handing half his cloak to a beggar. The other light shows Martin kneeling before the Lord who is seen holding a piece of cloak. An example of Veronica Whall's work is shown in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
