Veronica Whall was the daughter of the eminent stained glass designer Christopher Whitworth Whall (1849-1924), a member of the Arts and Crafts Movement and teacher at both the Central School of Art and Royal College of Art in London.
Veronica worked closely with her father, and drew a design for part of a window in Gloucester Cathedral at the age of thirteen. She went on to become a director of Whall & Whall Ltd. in London, and was regarded as an important designer in her own right. A number of her stained glass windows feature in churches in New Zealand, including the Christchurch Nurses Memorial Chapel which houses a series of four stained glass panels, cartoons of which are in The William Morris Gallery, London.
