The lot is accompanied by a letter from Stokely Webster confirming that he painted the portrait of Madame La Meri, c. 1950, and a brief conservation report. The lot also includes a copy of an undated brochure from The Academy of Ethnic Dance, founded by La Meri, in which the portrait at hand appears in the background of a photograph of dancers in a studio. The lot contains a copy of La Meri's autobiography, a typed copy of La Meri's reminiscences, as well as other ephemera.
