      Est: $6,000 - $8,000

Signed, verso: Vincent van der Vinne.Black chalk and gray wash. This very painterly landscape is one of the largest and most impressive of van der Vinne's known drawings. The fine group of the artist's drawings in the Brussels museum contains another outstanding sheet (de Grez collection, cat.1913, no.3886), and one was sold, Paris, Drouot, 23 January 1980, but otherwise his œuvre contains few examples of such ambitious and grandiose compositions.
