WEITE FLUSSLANDSCHAFT MIT HIRTEN UND RUINE Öl auf Holz. 42,5 x 60,5 cm. In teilvergoldetem Prunkrahmen. In weiter, teils bewaldeter Flusslandschaft, unter hohem grau-blauem Himmel fällt rechtsseitig der Blick auf einen hohen Felsblock, teils mit Bäumen und Sträuchern bewachsen, auf dessen Spitze wohl die Reste eines antiken runden Gebäudes oder Tempels stehen. Im Vordergrund des Felsens, auf einer flachen Wiese, ein nur mit Lendentuch bekleidetes Paar beim Hüten seiner Kühe und Ziegen. Malerei in der typischen Manier des Künstlers, bei der die Tiere und die Figuren durch den helleren Lichteinfall besonders hervorgehoben werden. Anmerkung: Der Künstler malte hauptsächlich Werke zu religiösen und klassischen Mythologie-Themen, aus denen auch die dargestellten Figuren stammen könnten. 1614 trat er der Lukasgilde bei.
