Oil on canvas painting titled "Dame der Gesellschaft (Society Lady)" depicting a portrait of a seated woman in a sumptuous white gown perched delicately on an ornate giltwood chair, 1908. Signed and dated along the lower right. Provenance: Dorotheum, Vienna, "Olgemadle und Aquarelle des 19. Jahrhunderts," November 29, 2001, Lot 2; From the Estate of Horst Rechelbacher, Founder of the Aveda Institute, Osceola, Wisconsin. Horst Rechelbacher, the founder of Aveda and Intelligent Nutrients, was a pioneer in the field of safe and eco-friendly cosmetics. The same curiosity that led him to explore ways to improve the beauty industry led him to travel the world, collecting rare and beautiful objects as he went.

      SEYMOUR M. STONE, AMERICAN (1877-1957) Graduated from the Royal Academy in Munich then studied under Jules Joseph Lefebvre at the Academie Julian, and with John Singer Sargent in London. He also attended the Art Students League of New York and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.. This Large oil on canvas with period American frame is of Mrs. Robert Graves and Daughter The painting has strong Provenance it comes from the artist , passed down to present family with the artist exhibition catalogue titled The Colonial Galleries Exhibition from 1935 in which this painting is listed and appears on page 13. The exhibition booklet will be included with the sale of this painting , canvas measures 58"wide x 45" high Condition is very good it hasbeen relined some time ago with small amount of in paint present .

      Theodore Roosevelt Portrait by Seymour Stone (American, 1877-1957),: an oil on canvas portrait of Theodore Roosevelt wearing pince-nez eyeglasses, signed and dated by Seymour M. Stone, NY, Oct. 1921; 12.5" x 15.5", framed, 17.5" x 21". Seymour Stone was born in Poland in 1877, but he went on to live and work in New York until his death in 1957. Stone was known for his portraiture, as well as his figural and zoological paintings. He studied under Jules Joseph Lefebvre at the Academie Julian, and he also attended the Art Students League of New York and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Stone's work was displayed at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Corcoran Gallery, Washington, D.C., and the Fort Worth Art Association, among other places.
