    Zaragoza, Spain 1861 - Rome 1915 | He was artistically trained in Madrid, in the commercial, arts and crafts schools and then in the Escuela de Bellas artes en Madrid. In 1889, he received an award, with the support of the Zaragoza government, and studied for three years at the Spanish Academy in Rome. After this period, Augustin remained in the city, where he produced works depicting Italian costumes and landscapes. His exhibition activity was deployed in various European capitals, accompanied, apparently, by economic success. In Zaragoza he participated in the Aragonese Exhibition of 1885-86. His contacts with Aragon were very rare, but this did not prevent him from being esteemed as a promise for Aragonese painting and as a disciple and follower of Pradilla. Agustín Salinas's painting is little known, although he can be said to have followed in his master's footsteps, both in genres-Italian landscapes and costumes-and in the meticulous and colorful drawing technique that is very toned down and pleasing. In the early 20th century, he was in Brazil and produced some works. His brother Juan Pablo, born in Madrid in 1871, even less is known about him. He was also a genre painter. They lived together in Italy and maintained a thematic and stylistic affinity with their older brother's work.
