    PROPERTY SOLD WITHOUT RESERVE THE MADONNA AND THE YOUNG SAINT JOHN ADORING THE CHRIST CHILD THE MADONNA AND THE YOUNG SAINT JOHN ADORING THE CHRIST CHILD measurements note 30 1/2 by 16 3/4 in.; 77.5 by 42.5 cm. tempera and oil on panel, with an arched top within an engaged frame NOTE We are grateful to Everett Fahy who, based on first hand inspection, has identified the present work to be by Rosselli. Rosselli was a student of Neri di Bicci, whose studio he entered at the age of ten, and a cousin of Cosimo Rosselli . By 1488 Rosselli seemed to be an independant artist and received a commission to decorate three walls and the ceiling of the Sala de' Signori in the Palazzo Vecchio, Florence. Rosselli is recorded in the artist's guild of Saint Luke and was a member of the Company of S. Zenobi.
