(105 x 162mm.) in two common mounts A fine group of 12 original wash drawings by Riou, used for plates 5, 7, 8, 11 and 14 in volume 1 and plates 17-19, 31 and 33 in volume 2, in Stanley's account of the Emin Pasha Relief Expedition, In Darkest Africa published in 1890. They seem to capture some of the spirit of this unusual expedition.
