    • Rauch, Johann Nepomuk: Russisches Bauernpaar mit Vieh an der Tränke
      Nov. 28, 2024

Rauch, Johann Nepomuk: Russisches Bauernpaar mit Vieh an der Tränke

      Est: €12,000 - €14,000

Russisches Bauernpaar mit Vieh an der Tränke. Öl auf Holz. 34,2 x 43 cm. Unten rechts signiert und datiert "J. N. Rauch. pxt. 1836". - Please ask for condition reports for individual lots, as the condition is usually not mentioned in the catalogue.

Exhibited: Landschaft und Staffage - ihre Beziehung im Wandel der Zeit, 15.3.-15.6.1986, Galerie Dr. Schenk, Zürich, No. 20. --------------- RAUCH, JOHANN NEPOMUK (Wien 1804 - 1847 Rom) Begegnung an der Tränke in den Albaner Bergen. 1842. Öl auf Leinwand. Unten rechts signiert und datiert: J. N. Rauch Rome. 1842. 50,5 x 70,5 cm. Provenienz: - Galerie Dr. Schenk, Zürich, 1994. - Schweizer Privatsammlung.

      JOHANN NEPOMUK RAUCH, SIBERIAN WOLF

      Est: €4,000 - €5,000

This painting was created soon after Rauch's arrival in Rome where he established himself in 1841, following a ten-year stay in Moscow, and where he died six years later. Characteristic of his finely painted works is the brilliantly luminous palette. Unfortunately, due to the somewhat dirty condition of this impressive animal painting, this characteristic is not apparent.
