NIEUWENHUIS (his mark painted on bottom, and "330" (model no.) and "DISTEL AMSTERDAM HOLLAND" stamp), width ±20,5 cm. (Sl. craquelé, w. one deeper crack). Nienhuis, B. (1873-1960) (style of). Set of 6 trivets with raised edges, high glaze pottery, unif. design w. central ornament within triple line round sides in greyish green and ochre on ivory ground, Ø 8 cm., each w. crowned Distel Amsterdam logo stamp on bottom. - Two trivets w. a few small chips, 5 trivets trifle/ sl. craquelé. AND 3 others by the same company: a larger cache-pot (w. 2 restored/ repaired areas); a small belly vase (w. decoration by B. NIENHUIS and the coat of arms of Doorn and marked "B. 313" (W. Bogtman?) and an oil lamp w. decoration by the same and coat of arms of Ruurlo).

Full vellum with red decorations and lettering, gilt fillets and dots, and gilt title on spine, designed by Theo Nieuwenhuis and executed in batik. With fine decorated endpapers and frontispiece with etched portrait of the author by Willem Witsen, signed with initials in the plate 'WW' (lower right). All edges gilt. Deluxe copy hors commerce on Van Gelder handmade paper with the initials of the owner 'EB' handpainted by Nieuwenhuis (centre of the back cover). First edition. Very fine copy, some wear to the spine with several tiny losses of paint, several small very light stains (front cover) and a small irregularity (lower edge of the back cover). (10), 144 pp.
