        New York, 25 June 1845, Transfer for 50 Shares in the Capital Stock, o. Nr., 11.8 x 19 cm, brown, lightgrey. New York, 25.06.1845, Transfer for 50 Shares in the Capital Stock, o. Nr., 11,8 x 19 cm, braun, hellgrau. The first company was founded in 1824 to built a canal. The 102 miles of canal should link Easton at the Delaware River with New Jersey City at the Hudson river. The bank developed good, until it began speculation. Therefore in 1844 an new company with the same name was founded. The canal was in operation till 1870. Die erste Gesellschaft wurde 1824 gegründet, um einen 102 Meilen langen Kanal zu bauen, der Easton am Delaware River, dessen Hafen ein großer Kohleumschlagplatz war, mit New Jersey City am Hudson River verbinden sollte. Die Bank entwickelte sich gut, bis sie sich zu spekulativen Bankgeschäften hinreißen ließ. Daher wurde 1844 unter gleichem Namen eine neue, sehr erfolgreiche Firma gegründet.
