      AOKI MOKUBEI (1767-1833) A Kutani-Style Tea Bowl Edo period (1615-1868), 19th century The porcelain chawan decorated in gold and overglaze enamels in multiple colors with a design of a multitude of men engaged in various activities surrounding a large gold fish in the center, the rim of the bowl painted gold, the exterior a design of clouds, the interior of the foot-ring yellow with the signature Rōbei zō inside a green-enamel leaf With a crepe storage bag and a wood box containing an inscription of authenticity dated to 1922 and signed by Hiraki Seikō 3 x 6 1/4in (7.6 x 15.9cm)

Handhabe des Szepters mit feinem, vollflächigem Wellengrund. Rückseitig befindet sich die Marke von Aoki Mokubei (1767 – 1833), eigentlicher Name Gensa, welcher einer der berühmtesten Töpfer und Maler des Nanga-Stils war. Länge 32 cm. Condition: II

      Edo period (dated 1830), incised date and signature on base Bunsei kanoe tora Robei zo (Made by Mokubei in 1830) and impressed seals Seirai and Mokubei [Aoki Mokubei (1767-1833)] Modeled after a Chinese archaic ritual vessel, set on a high, slightly splayed foot and decorated with cranes and lotus moulded in high-relief and with notched flanges on the sides, painted in yellow, green and aubergine enamels, the handle modeled as a Chinese-style mythical beast; lower half of the basin of the vessel and interior of the foot and base of the vessel unglazed 18 1/2 in. (47cm.) wide
