            PRESIDENT MARTIN VAN BUREN DIAMOND, 14K YELLOW GOLD AND ONYX MOURNING PIN WITH BRAIDED FRAGMENT OF HIS HAIR, PRESENTED TO HIS GRANDDAUGHTER ANNA VAN BUREN, CIRCA 1862 the oval pin initialed 'MVB' in silver and rose cut diamonds (set in pitch) over onyx, the back mounted in 14k yellow gold with braided white hair under glass, with engraved inscription 'Bequeathed to Anna Van Buren/By her Grandfather/Martin Van Buren/Who died July 24th. 1862,' 18.86 grams Note: Anna Van Buren (1842-1923) was the daughter of President Van Buren's son, John Van Buren (1810-1866) who was Attorney General of New York, 1845 to 1847. In President Van Buren's will, he "direct[ed] my Executors to lay out five hundred Dollars for Keepsakes for my grandson Travis Van Buren, and for my granddaughters, Anna, Ellen, Catherine & Eliza Van Buren."
