(1866 Coburg - 1909 Berlin) "Die Tanzende". Originaltitel Bronze, 1905. Bez. u. dat. 1905. Lauchhammer-Gießerstempel. Posthumer, zeitgenössischer Guss, 21. Jh.; Auf einer flachen, gerundeten Plinthe, nur mit einem Fuß stehende Tänzerin in ekstatischer Pose mit weit zurückgebeugtem Oberkörper und nach hinten gerichtetem Kopf, wobei das leichte, knöchellange Kleid als erotisches Motiv ihre linke Brust freilässt. 1905 zeigte Lepcke "Die Tanzende" mit Erfolg in der Großen Berliner Kunstausstellung, 1906 auch im Kölner Kunstverein, in der führenden Zeitschrift "Die Kunst für Alle" erntete "die in ihrer kühnen Bewegtheit charmante Tänzerin" Kritikerlob. 1883-1890 studierte Lepcke an der Berliner Akademie, ab 1888 als Meisterschüler Fritz Schapers. 1889 debütierte Lepcke in der Akademie-Ausstellung und 1891 zeichnete ihn die Akademie mit dem großen Staatspreis aus, der mit einem Stipendienjahr 1892/93 in Rom verbunden war. In den folgenden Jahren erhielt Lepcke mehrere Auszeichnungen und 1905 den Professorentitel. H. 46 cm. Ein Guss der Tanzenden befindet sich in den Städt. Kunstsammlungen Coburg (Inv.-Nr. St. 4108). Jh.; Die überlebensgroße Aktfigur der "Bogenspannerin" gilt als eines der bedeutendsten Werke Lepckes. 1883-1890 studierte er an der Berliner Akademie, ab 1888 als Meisterschüler Fritz Schapers. 1891 zeichnete ihn die Preußische Akademie der Künste mit dem großen Staatspreis aus, der mit einem Stipendienjahr 1892/93 in Rom verbunden war. Von der 1897 modellierten "Bogenspannerin" existieren mehrere um 1900 ausgeführte, frühe Güsse als Freiskulpturen in Parks und Plätzen bzw. in öffentlichem Besitz, u.a. in der Nationalgalerie Berlin, in Coburg und Bromberg. Nach dem Tod des Künstlers verkaufte sein Bruder zahlreiche Modelle Lepckes an die Kunstgießerei Lauchhammer, die mit der Lizenz zur Vervielfältigung und zum Vertrieb entscheidend zur weiteren Bekanntheit des Bildhauers beitrug. Ferdinand Lepcke (* 23 March 1866 in Coburg; † 12 March 1909 in Berlin), German sculptor. He began his training in the studio of the Biber brothers and later attended the school of the Kunstgewerbemuseum in Berlin. From October 1883 to September 1890 he studied at the Berlin academy, in 1888 he became Fritz Schaper's master student. In 1891 he became a member of the Verein Berliner Künstler. Scared, the upper body and the head are turned to the back, and the left arm is raised to the face. Condition: The bronze is overall in good condition. There is a restored breaking point at the right shoulder. The wooden base shows some nicks. The figure measures approximately 22 x 14 x 3 cm, and the base is 24.5 x 17 x 4.5 cm in size. Ferdinand Lepcke (1866-1909) Ferdinand Lepcke trained in the workshop of the Brothers Biber and at the School of Decorative Arts in Berlin. From 1883 to 1890, he attended the Berlin Academy.
