In 1974 Duncan Thomson wrote the book The Life And Art Of George Jamesone where he attended the auction and described several of the paintings in detail. Wears ermine partlet with red top border studded with blue jewels; ‘doublet’ green to olive green, with prominent highlights on sleeve.” Mr. Costin not only preserved these paintings, he also kept the original auction catalog, which we can provide a copy to the winning bidder.
