            An antique German painting on porcelain plaque by KPM depicting a scene with Jesus after the original oil painting on canvas, Christ In The Temple, 1884 by Heinrich Ferdinand Hofmann, German, 1824 to 1911. Marked with an impressed KPM factory mark, on the backside. Circa: early 20th century. Framed. The plot for the painting was an episode from the Gospel of Luke, which tells how the parents of Jesus came to Jerusalem for the Passover holiday. The Konigliche Porzellan Manufaktur Berlin, or KPM, was one of the most influential porcelain factories in 18th century Germany, and it still operates today. Unten rechts mit kopierter Signatur des Originals, darunter monogrammiert ''HB'' und datiert 1913. Rückseitig mit Schablonenstempel der Königlichen Gemälde-Galerie zu Dresden (heute Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden) unter Verweis auf die Galerienummer des Originals: 2266. Auf Keilrahmen handschriftlich bezeichnet ''Kopie mit Genehmigung der Kunsthandlung Max Sinz gefertigt 1913 von H. Beyer''. Gerahmt. 90 x 120 cm, 99 x 131 cm (Ra). Malschicht etwas angeschmutzt.             (1824 Darmstadt - 1911 Dresden) Bildnis eines vornehmen Mädchens mit Fächer Brustportrait einer jungen Dame in weißem, spitzenverziertem Chiffonkleid vor einem Landschaftshintergrund. Durch die einfühlsame Charakterisierung, den weichen Farbenschmelz des Inkarnats, die duftige Stofflichkeit und die subtile Lichtführung beeindruckendes Werk des Künstlers. Hofmann studierte in Antwerpen und Düsseldorf bei Theodor Hildebrandt und Wilhelm v. Schadow. Ab 1862 war er in Dresden ansässig, 1870 wurde er Professor an der Kunstakademie, deren Ehrenmitglied er bereits war. Öl/Lwd., doubl.; 74,5 cm x 60,5 cm. Rahmen.
