pencil, ink and pastel on thin cardboard Daily comic strip from 10/27/1930 for "Mickey Mouse". The one we presented is the second oldest Mickey Mouse strip ever to appear on the market, it belongs to the third narrative arc entitled "Mr. Slicker and the Egg Robbers" (translated into Italian "Topolino e il bel gagà") and the first one that saw Gottfredson both to the drawings and to the texts. The protagonist of this historic daily is Marcus Mouse, Minnie's father, disconsolate and driving a hay cart while worrying about his family's finances due to the apparent scarcity of eggs laid by his hens. The rural setting (typical of the very first years of the series) is of great charm, the future Topolinia is made up of a few country houses and the atmosphere is constantly in the balance between childhood moments like Silly Synphonies, such as when Mickey Mouse plays with the farm animals , and neorealist scenes where all the daily problems of the Great Depression appear. A museum artwork. Pin holes in the upper corners, the strip has been rolled up and is therefore slightly arched. Signed Walt Disney and dated.
