      Doris Gerrard (British, 20th century), bust of a young woman, modelled in plaster, her head leans to one side h:40 w:50 cm Doris Gerrard studied at Plymouth Art College in the 1920s. She was married to Charles Gerrard, sometime principal of the J. J. School of Art in Bombay. Beverley Nichols described her 'a sculptress of genius, completely wasted in India'. These works, probably executed between 1945 and 1948 came from her studio sale in the 1990s, the proceeds of which endowed a scholarship in her name at Plymouth
