Pan-American Exposition Sterling Silver Plateau, 1901, New York, probably designed by Paulding Farnham (1859-1927), the circular mirrored plateau mounted in an everted silver frame decorated with elaborately chased openwork palmettes and acanthus fronds joined by bellflower and rosette swags, marked, under the rim "Tiffany & Co./14738/Makers/3726/Sterling Silver/925-1000/T" and the special "beaver" mark used on items made for the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York, 1901, dia. 27". Provenance: The Houston, Texas estate of Mrs. George P. Kelley.
