A keen huntsman, Joseph Dunn of Worcester was the son of William Dunn of Birmingham, who ran a coaching service to London. His skillful paintings reflect his deep knowledge of the sport in the counties of Herefordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire. See Wingfield, Dictionary of Sporting Artists, 91.
